Reading
and Reading Comprehension
Reading instruction will continue using the Pathway Readers for Grade 3 and 4. The workbooks will be
continued as well. New words for each story will continue to be introduced
first using uniform decoding and then Eric will read the stories and complete
the accompanying workbook pages.
Reading comprehension will be developed through
completion of the Pathway workbooks as well as guided comprehension exercises
of selected literature and science topics.
Eric will continue with reading the literature selections
started last year. Fairy tales and tall tales will be completed and myths will
be introduced and studied. Chapter books will not be introduced unless reading
proficiency allows.
